Hat Trick Pt. II: Mitchell and Ness by Hall of Fame

Up next on my series of Fall hats (check out Pt. I here) is a snapback. Snapbacks are my go-to hat for bad and lazy hair days aka most days. They are great for shielding my face from the sun when I'm working on set. I also like that I'm able to snap the hat onto my purse when I don't want to wear it indoors or my backpack to save space when traveling. A functional accessory? Perfect.

I like this Hall of Fame take on a Mitchell & Ness hat for Fall for two reasons. 1) I grew up watching the Bulls. They're my home team and favorite. 2) The red immediately adds a pop of color to an otherwise plain outfit.

From my personal hat consultant MISTAH SU-LO JAMZ, "Hall of Fame is a street wear brand off Fairfax [in LA] that deals almost exclusively in hats. They take classic sports logos and flip em up... Mitchell and Ness is one of the more popular hat makers, similar to Starter caps." Thanks for the info, MISTAH. You can check out more of Hall of Fame's NBA Upside Down collection here.

The hat adds a bit of sportiness and edge to my outfit. When I wear this hat I feel like I'm channeling my inner badass. Maybe the boldness of the hat brings it out or it's just another side of me. Whatever the reason may be, I feel good and that's what matters. This hat was gifted to me by a good friend; thanks Caleb!

Outfit Details:
  • Top: Everlane Box Cut tee -favorite basic. I have this shirt in heathered grey and muted black, too!
  • Jacket: Forever 21 varsity jacket (old) -this season's version with white striped trim here
  • Bottoms: Uniqlo Ultra-Stretch High Rise in black -perfect for me since I have a long torso. Pairs great with crop tops or shorter tees like the Everlane Box Cut. ;)
  • Shoes: Nike Dunk Sky Hi -(similar) sneaker with a hidden wedge heel; I love these because they actually look like sneakers and are comfortable, too. Sorry Isabel Marant- you might've started the trend, but Nike is still the sneaker king.
  • Necklace: Karen Hsiang Dainty Lariat in silver with labradorite -my go-to necklace for a no fuss, simple piece.
  • Purse: Opening Ceremony Izzy Handbag Backpack  -gifted; full post on this purse-back to come!
Thank you for reading Pt. II of my Hat Trick series! Pt. III is coming next week.  All photos by the lovely Jonizzle.
